Bugaboos – BC Parks Centennial

A contingent of local teens (5 from Invermere, 5 from Kimberley) were escorted into their spectacular back yard, the Bugaboos, for a wonderful week of discovery in the company of new friends. This year it was to celebrate the BC Parks 100th anniversary, and Tay Hanson, Sr Ranger Columbia Area, Ministry of Environment was again involved as one of the organizers. Not only did the outing give the youth of the valley the opportunity to learn the basics of mountaineering, but it also served up a first hand appreciation for our paltry few environmentally protected areas.
